![]() This is a *huge* flaw in the game and was super annoying, because starting up a mission might mean you are stuck playing of the next hour. Instead, there are two areas (the church and the cemetery) that are considered part of the resting area, so if you have a mission where you have to go to one of those areas and then back to your base, there are no save points as you are not technically leaving the resting area, even though you are. You should at least be able to save whenever you want at the main resting place. The game only saves when you go to a new area, but whenever you go to a new area, in-game time progresses, which makes the zombies stronger, so you don't want to leave an area just to save. The main drawbacks of this game were the unforgivable saves points and the bugs. There is even a setting where you can enable your actual voice to be heard by zombies. You have a flashlight that you hold and move it to wherever you'd like just as you would in real life. You can pull out your backpack and weapons from over your shoulder, throw weapons, attack enemies from any angle. The developers have also done an excellent job incorporating VR-specific mechanics in the gameplay. I found the story satisfying and I especially enjoyed getting to know the man behind the radio. ![]() There are two main storylines that you follow that eventually meet in the middle. There's something satisfying about getting to this point, because you can loot areas much faster than at the start of the game. After playing for a while, you get the hang of which items to pick up and which ones to leave behind. Throughout the game, you loot buildings and scrap items to obtain materials that will allow you to make upgrades and progress through the story. The detailed maps and bleak environments make for a world you can really get immersed in. The game also contains a two player mode where zombies can take multiple hits and the aim is to get the final shot on a zombie.13h PlayedThis is definitely one one the bigger budget VR games available today and it's clear in it's design. Free play mode allows the player to replay the scenes without having to play through the whole story mode. The horde mode simply involve surviving as long as possible against an endless amount of zombies. Each scene has a primary objective that usually involves reaching a location and a bonus objective, for instance getting a number of head shots in a row. The story mode has three acts with a number of scenes in each. ![]() The game contains a story mode, a horde mode and a free play mode. There are also barrels which will blow up when shot. Shooting crates will reveal different items such as health packs, new weapons and ammunition and these are collected when shot. It's import to avoid hitting the civilians since it leads to points being lost. Civilians will also appear and these can be saved by shooting the zombies that surround them. Like in the series and the comic book, head shots are required to kill the zombies and sometimes multiple hits are required. Like in other rail shooters movement is automatic and the player simply has to shoot the zombies as they appear. ![]() The game is built into a light gun shoot gun which is used to aim at and shoot zombies from a first-person perspective. The Walking Dead: Zombie Hunter is a rail shooter based on the television series.
